Be Love,
For That Is What You Are
There is a timelessness that is our true reality. Pure spirit that is the Godspark in us all. This cannot be contained by simple physics of this actuality we experience in what we call our lives. It extends and connects every form in the infinite oneness, guided by what I call the Beloved, my higher power. In these bodies we are governed by time and consequences. While traveling, we encounter and endure challenge after challenge after challenge, ad infinitum. These come in all shapes and forms. When everything is stripped away, there is only love. So why do we experience fear if we are pure love and all is connected? There is only love or fear, yet fear is not reality. It is a creation of the mind that is projected as any other aspect that is not love. Anger, jealousy, insecurity, addiction, worry, overconcern, obsessiveness, sadness, hate, bigotry, revenge, resentment, greed, and the endless list goes on. These are all fear based.
Love or fear. Seems like a simple choice, yes? It would be if we have not built blocks or walls to love’s presence. Chaos surrounds us in a world we feel we can not control. This is the great lie the ego demands we believe. If not the ego would die and we would be pure love and with that return to oneness. If the ego is dead, then where is the “I” the “me”? That is what fuels the fear. What will happen to “me” if there is no ego mind? It never existed so nothing is lost as we, the one, return to the true reality of complete love and oneness with the Beloved. Easy concept but terrifying to the ego mind. It is pushed so far down we don’t even realize we operate everyday with the “me” in charge. What pushes it so far down? Distractions. What distractions? Problems, opinions, survival, needs, wants, desires, desperation. So the question is how do we live in this world and succeed, become happy, successful, secure without being ego driven. How do we exist as our true self? How do we “Be Love”?
Do we sell all of our possessions and sit on top of a mountain and meditate? Do we pledge all of our money to worthy causes and volunteer at shelters everyday? Do we become Reiki Masters and heal people, therapists to ease people’s minds, foster parents, create animal sanctuaries, study why the bee population is declining, fix global warming, stop pollution? Sure why not do those noble things, yet that won’t change the blocks to love’s awareness. Removing these blocks, breaking down these walls, is the starting point. So how do we start?
The change starts in perspective, then perception. We step out of the storm and into the eye of the storm where there is calm. Out of the chaos that will always, no matter what, surround us. It is not up to us to end the chaos, but to live within it without it affecting us. Oh, so we become unfeeling robots? No, we embrace the mind and our true reality of love. This is a daily quest and THAT is living in the now. It is peace of mind, piece by piece of mind. One small change, one tiny thought. One little reaction that is softer. One kind word, one different action and reaction. This takes commitment and a conscious effort. There lies free will. Do you want to be happy and free or will you keep a sword in your hand battling the demons and chaos. How free do you want to be?
As we lay brick by brick our path, we call others into the eye of the storm to rest in the calm. A call to love for everyone. We are calling to ourselves as we do this because we are all connected. We are one. One mind, one spirit. Their joy is ours, their peace we share. The storm of chaos subsides as more and more step away from it.
Again, how is this possible? We are only human! There it is, that’s the catch. Because we can’t do this alone. Not without an endless, powerful source of consistent unwavering love. What is that source you ask? YOU tell me. This power greater than ourselves is of each and everyone’s own understanding. It is whatever you know to be absolute. This power has tried to be tamed by words, religions, kings and conquers. Yet it lives in each of us on a personal level and we connect with that power individually yet connected. Many names have been given the unnamable, God, Universe, Buddha, Krishna, Gaia, Source. Words are meaningless because only meaning is what counts, yet in this physical form words guide us. As I said before, the Beloved is what I connect with.
My own story is one of Alcoholism. I am in recovery. The thoughts, messages and experiences I have had, are a universal tale as old as time. Life equals problems and problems are distractions and distractions build the walls that block the presence of love. I want to speak of my recovery in the sense that this problem could have any other word dropped in its place and the ideas would still be applicable. Alcoholism is one of any number of mountains many people climb in life. This happens to be one of mine. There are many mountains in my past, but this is by far the tallest and most dangerous. Because of that, my passion is to bring these messages to all that are looking to put down the drink or whatever the obstacle life is creating for them. This is not just about being sober, which was my own learning tool. I am a huge proponent of getting sober. Staying sober is the tricky part. Staying sober and being happy, even more of a challenge. Staying sober and growing spiritually… well now we are just reaching for stars. Yes, that is what I am being guided to do. Reach for the stars and pull them out of the sky. Why not? They only exist in the mind anyway. This is not just for those in sobriety or sober curious or trying to get sober. It is for anyone that is unfulfilled, seemingly wandering, needing an anchor. Let’s see where Spirit takes us.
I call this power The Beloved because that is what resonates with me. You can decide what path, what name, what ideal resonates with you. As long as it is something greater than yourself. Something to anchor to and be guided by.
